    Chicken baguette?

Surely a sarnie has to contain the likes of bacon, sausage, fried egg, etc?:D

chicken has got tobe with cream of mushroom, oxtail/muligatawny is beef, ham is with tomato, any other soup is just flavoured water apart from possibly pea and ham

Gotta be both. That's one of the best things about Ireland, the decision is already made for you. Every cafe there had a lunch deal which is soup and a sarnie. Always seemed to be thick chunky veggie soup with a cheese and ham toastie. Proper comfort food with the wind whipping in off the Atlantic!
