Who thinks we did well? Because we were absolute dogshit. Why play one up front when Southampton are clearly playing with less confidence than us!? Surely it was worth changing it in the 2nd half? But no, Davey was too scared to lose the game and went like for like with all his subs- Disco for JCR, Hassell for Da Silva, Macken for Odejayi. No problem with any of those subs on their own, but please ******* change it when 3 points are up for grabs.
Davey's time is very limited now based on some of the chants that were heard, and Davey would have heard them. Not sure if they've been posted on here but it would have left him in no doubt that he's not a popular man amongst certain sections of the away following.

Any improvement from the Cardiff game ?
I remember Machin getting booed as he walked down the tunnel. Hope we don't get to that stage.

Certain sections of the away following are pissed brainless plebs how many of the reported 390 thnat went joined in with the "you're just a fat Welsh bstard" chant? So drunk they cant see the pitch, so few brain cells left they struggle adding up their pennies to buy a pie, is there any wonder the manager ignores and discounts their 'opinion'? See it for what it is, ffs.
Did Patrick Cryne hear the chants that's the thing because surely the one's that go to the likes of Southampton away etc. are not just hangers on and they don't go all that way just to have a go at the manager, so if they do, as more and more people are realising, there is something seriously wrong.
Couldn't be worse than Tuesday could it? Better going forward- at least we went forward. But both keepers were pretty much spectators, Muller had more to do but never looked under threat. Anderson even half fit was a league above anything else on the pitch and should help us to stem the tide, but up front we're looking awful. Its Davey's fault- no inspiration or ideas to change a game- and now its worse because he's scared to lose. Expect 5 in midfield and one up front for the next 5 away games, unless we concede and it'll be 5 up front.
RE: Longer journey = more time on the cans nt
I'm not saying you're wrong, but it runs deeper than 18 cans of strongbow.

Its nailed on relegation If we persist in playing negative football home and away we are doomed not only that but if our only hope is to play the leagues worst centre forward up front on his own FFS then we may as well start planning for Peterborough!
Cant see him changing his only outlook on football or his opinions on certain players, i see no light at the end of our tunnel.

Odejayi up front on his own ................ .......... enough said - how can we ever hope to win a football match with that approach? Southampton look relegation certainties and we didn't realise we could win until it was too late. God knows how Hume missed after going round the keeper but that apart it was just another game where it became clear that Davey has not got a clue what he's doing. He's got to go before it's too late
From early on you could see the game was going to be 0 - 0. No team looked a threat going forward, and the game was there for the taking. Why the subs were like for like and Davey didn't try to make changes to take the initiative and go for the win I've no idea. Seems like a point was what was wanted prior to the game and the game plan throughout the 90 mins were to get the point an no more. I don't hink we'll play another team away from home and have a better chance of winning! With the subs why not change it so we had two up front? Or to be more cautious but a little more attacking why not replace De Silva with Leon? For all his pace you'd think that Odejayi wouldn't need to keep straying offside to get a headstart on the defenders, but it happened. And the few times that we had a decent opportunity to get a cross in their was at most only one of our plyers in the box (set pieces aside). After seeing that performance it's hard to understand where the next goal will come from. And it shows that £1m buys a stirker with only one decent foot (I'd have backed Hume to score had the opportunity been on his left foot). As for Brian Howard, I wouldn't say he had a bad game, but until the last ten minutes it was easy to forget he was on the pitch as he was pretty anonymous. Then again attacking play was also pretty anonymous and maybe the two go hand in hand.
RE: Certain sections of the away following are pissed brainless plebs I didn't hear the fat welsh chant, but I did hear the 'We want some strikers' one. Having said that, the welsh chant probably got drowned out by the ramadam foghorn
RE: Hume's right footed nt I couldnt get to the game on sat, but i have an opinion anyway. I dont think Davey is going to play KO up front on his own in every away game. I think he just realised that it was a tough away day between two sides very low on confidence and was prob going to be decided by a mistake, so he set up our team to try and make sure it wasnt us. If hume scores everyone would say davey got it spot on.
