Can someone answer this questions for me? If the holding company went bust and was wound up, would Southampton FC also go to the wall?

Just trying to work out whether the points deduction is fair or not and would like to know if the survival of one is linked to the survival if the other. If that is the case then they deserve the 10 point deduction.

"The holding company is solvent in its own right. It only becomes insolvent when account is taken of the position of Southampton football club and the other group companies."

Presumably FC would escape if the holding company went bust as that would take the debts from the club with it. Which is why they've been penalised, as I understand it.

    If both go bust ....

perhaps they will lose ten points twice over. This is because the wonderfully caring FA does not wish to come down too heavy!!!! I wonder what Luton fans will think when the rules are amazingly changed in about five years' time just in time to stop Liverpool and Manchester United descending into the Conference when their owners' debts are called in. You just watch, Luton fans!!!

Money has corrupted the beautiful game and the more the money, the more the corruption (discuss)!!!
