RE: Afraid not, but he's great at winning corners! nt true... winning corners and freekicks were about the only end product we got from him. great in defence and as an outlet but no end product (from 2 years at us). fingers crossed you can get the best from him as i genuinely like the lad, but he bloody frustrating! good to see you boys have made a good start to the season... got a soft spot for you boys over our match-ups in the last few seasons. fingers crossed we can join you next year!
Everytime he gets the ball he seems dangerous...until... he gets anywhere near the area...then he heads for the corner, never looks up, often doesn't beat his man - basically always takes too long to get rid - but I'm sure you al;ready know that.
I think he's still a useful player though, helps take the pressure off with his running, and often takes a couple of defenders across, which should free up space which could be used to good effect if we weren't playing so badly the last few games.
Can't say I've had too much of an eye on League 1, how have you started the season?

I Find.......... it annoying that he will get the ball, run at defenders, but then run towards the corner to cross, instead of run more central to pass to someone like Howie for a strike at goal. When on the ball he looks a world beater, but just without the final product.
He looks like he has potential to be a great player. Fantastic at winning corners. Some people are starting to get on his back though for not getting the crosses in. Hope to meet Southend again soon (long way to travel away like) preferably in the Championship!
RE: Everytime he gets the ball he seems dangerous...until... agree with that we have started fairly well.. in the mix at the top and haven't seen much to be scared of in this division, probably weaker than when we went up in 05/06. leeds will probably top it and i hope for playoffs at least (need to hang onto leon clarke though!)
RE: Everytime he gets the ball he seems dangerous...until... I wouldn't mind seeing you playing us in the championship next season. I enjoyed my visit to Roots Hall last season, although I did think the home fans were very quiet, even before going behind. Wasn't such a big fan of having restricted viewing, but you've a new ground on the way. I found the home fans and police all polite. I like the faith you have in Steve Tilson. He gets relegated and his three year contract gets extended to four. Patience with a football manager isn't there these days, so it's good to see. You've recovered from your poor start well as well.
RE: Everytime he gets the ball he seems dangerous...until... cheers for the support, yeah tilly is a quality manager and has everyones support, he is now in the Top10 longest-standing current managers which is crazy seeing as he signed in 2003! big games like that one last year tend to see the RH faithful be quite nervous and so it's often fairly quiet. however the acoustics between stands are poor and so it's often loud where you're sitting but it doesn't carry. best of luck and hope to see you next year!
RE: Everytime he gets the ball he seems dangerous...until... Are you still at Roots next season? How's the new ground going on? If it's only going to hold 10,000, I think that's pretty low for you. Like I watched you on Good Friday get thrashed by Colchester (should see us against Sheffield aka dee dar clubs) and it's never nice being beat in a local derby. Anyway you could have got many more in the ground if you wanted. Where we are situated, it's pretty easy for many away trips. You on the otherhand have some pretty decent journeys to make. You cannot beat us though playing away at Plymouth on a tuesday night next feb
No, but he runs around a lot and does the least convincing multiple step-over you've ever seen. So he's skillfull, apparently. Had a couple of good games in terms of helping out the defence, running at their defenders etc, but his lack of an end product is half the reason our forwards aren't getting chances to score.
Sorry but the "Cockernee Munchkin" Joey Cole has the worst step-over to return ratio.
It doesnt help that he does them 10 yards away from the nearest opponent.

RE: Everytime he gets the ball he seems dangerous...until... the new ground (fossetts farm) went to a public enquiry and we should hear the outcome at the end of the year. it's a 22,000 seater stadium and so would be ideal for our town, our fans and long term success (in the CCC at least!). we aren't doing a colchester and really planning for the future whilst being realistic. obviously it won't be ready until some point end at the end of 2009 i think
