    Fans want to be back in the Championship. They've overspent, and have a lot of competition for fans.

    Thats what did us (or at least, part of the reason).

    Why do they play on Friday nights?

    Was it expected to have a positive impact on attendances?

    yep

    they reckon that by playing on friday nights they get a lot of fans of other local and london teams turning up to watch them who would normally be watching their own team on a saturday

    Tranmere played Friday nights for years to avoid clashing with Liverpool or Everton.

    To avoid clashing with massive clubs such as Sheff Weds, Sheff Utd, Leeds, and Halifax.

    Because Southend is full of Chelsea fans.

    It weren't 15 year ago, but it is now. They were hoping some of those supporters would go down to Roots Hall to catch a game.
