"Southend boss Steve Tilson feels one more win from their remaining three games should guarantee promotion from League One" http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southend_utd/4918108.stm His maths isn't too good then seeing as they are 7 points clear of 3rd with 3 games left then 1 more win would GUARANTEE promotion for them.
Ah but If you check the time on that article, it precedes the Huddersfield game last night. If Hudds had won, they'd have been 6 points clear. If Hudds and Colchester both followed up with wins at the weekend, even if Southend won it'd be a 6 point gap with 2 to play. So at the time of the quote, one more win should have be enough. Consider yourself EastStandered!
Ah ah but Southend's goal difference is so much better that even with a Huddersfield win last night 1 win would be enough for Southend! Although I only spotted the timing of the article after I'd posted. ff
Before last night - If Southend lost all three and Colchester and Brentford won all three - Colchester - 81 Brentford - 80 Southend - 78
Indeed But with Southend's goal difference they only need 1 win out of 3. Hope they go up as they've been the best side down Oakwell this season.
