You can get 50/1 on Warnock if you fancy a flutter

He's done naff all as a manager. Be him getting the job based simply on nationality (and being an Hodgson style yes man for the FA). To be fair there isn't a British nevermind English candidate who i'd want to get the position.

The only english managers i would consider are Big Sam and maybe Nigel Pearson.

Not Pearson. Big Sam would be a better choice but he won't fit the FA's style
How about Eddie Howe or Sean Dyke. Both a far better choice than Southgate.

i don't really know if there is any obvious candidate though. What's Hiddink doing these days?

You can change managers as much as you like. But England stay the same. The post match apocalyptic fall out is as much a part of the tournament now as the football. I'd actually quite miss it. England is the Newcastle of international football.

I'd personally like Howe to get the job. Foreign managers' records have nothing to write home about, and with the majority there was the language difficulties. The FA is establishment, and as a result Harry and Sam have as much chance as Cloughie did.

Boris for England mgr and Southgate for PM, doubt we'd notice a difference in performance either way.

Southgate wouldn't be the worst appointment. Promoting from within didn't do us any harm with Hecky!

I was thinking about this last night and the only two English managers I think would be in with a reasonable shout would be Eddie Howe and Redknapp. I like Howe and think he could eventually become England manager but he needs to prove himself at a bigger club for me first, he's at a club where theres no pressure on him at all and to go from that to the huge pressure of being England manager would be a big ask. Redknapp should have got it last time, will he now be fancied by them? At least we'd have a go under him but I'm not so sure he'd be good enough. Several of the other managers that would have sprung to mind, like Mourinho, Guardiola, Rodgers are all starting new jobs so seemingly out of contention which leads me to who I think they'll appoint because of the farce that the FA are, LVG.
