Where does this leave us at CH for tomorrow, looks like two from Reid, Foster and Hassell. http://www.barnsleyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~1202726,00.html
Reidy Will Still Be Lucky To Get On The Bench We are shipping goals for fun and still the club captain barely even gets on the bench. Something is fishy there.
RE: Reidy Will Still Be Lucky To Get On The Bench Nyatanga returning to Derby coupled with Souza getting injured is not good for us, I would personally go with Hassell and Foster tomorrow. Wouldn't be suprised if Reid left in Jan, it appears that SD has come to the conclusion many fans did a long time ago, that Reid is simply not good enough to play in the Championship.
Heard at match on Saturday that Reid and Davey had a bust up. Something to do with Reid going in on him really heard during training. SD didn't take too nice to it
RE: Reidy Will Still Be Lucky To Get On The Bench Reidy did get us up (important goal at Huddersfield), helped keep us up as the head of the team (when most thought we would go down including a lot of us) and he's not moaned once. When other players are out they go on about needing to play, might have to move on etc. If you read what he says in his captains page, he is always positive and I reckon if we gave him a chance he would be very eager to impress and stay in the team. Souza and Nyatanga have been our centre half pairing for the shed load of goals we have conceeded recently and so i'm up for a change tomorrow.
Just Daveys way of getting Reid out of the club probably finds it a ballache having 2 captains. Im sure Reid could play that holding midfield role again - the one we initially signed him for.
RE: Just Daveys way of getting Reid out of the club Thought Reid was signed as a centre half the position he played at Carlisle and hoped to play at Rangers.
RE: Reidy Will Still Be Lucky To Get On The Bench Maybe Reid's goal at Huddersfield helped to get us up but his leadership as head of the team when he played were none existent! He never communicated with other members of the team or try to fire the team up when needed on the field. He's maybe tried to be positive in press releases and programme notes on trying to return to the side, but the bottom line is actions speak louder than words and 3 appearances all season says a lot about SD assesment of his ability.
I think Omen is right - i'm sure he was brought to the club to play holding midfield. Even though he was a centre half when he came.
Well he's not going to say any different is he? He's not going to start kicking up a fuss in the official programme. Just remember, Reid was part of a terrible defence last season and in the three games he started this time, we let 7 in.
RE: Well he's not going to say any different is he? We have let in the same amount in our last three games and yet people are disapointed that changes are having to be made at the centre half positions. What does that tell you about what fans think of our backup? I'd expect players who have played as much as some have this season to not conceed so many.
We have let in the same But in the three games Reid was playing we played against a League 2 team, and one sat bottom of our league. Not saying its all his fault, but I don't think he's good enough for this league.
Perhaps But I think Souza & Nyatanga are superior footballers individually and as a partnership to Reid & Kay. Just my opinion.
RE: We have let in the same That is so true. The club captain and local lad get slagged off and yet a kid from somewhere else gets praised for coming from the premiership and being an international. The other can't be slagged off as he's from the greatest football nation in the world. Probably right there, but to be fair our team this season is much stronger around them two and so less mistakes should be made. It was at the start of the season though when we were following on from just staying up. The fact so far into the season (when players are more use to who's around them) we are letting in so many is much more worrying.
