I'm just wondering what the position is regarding part time employees who want time off in lieu (maybe to attend matches) for Bank Holidays that fall on days they normally wouldn't work.

RE: Speaking as a scroat It's a good job I'm on the mailing list for thrusting apathetic lawyers then innit ?
What is it that they want? For example they want to attend a match on the August bank holiday (they'll be doing well seen as there isnt one like but thats not the point) and so they dont want to work the bank holiday? Or have i read that completly wrong?
the dont get them , thats why if you work part time you should always make sure you work mondays as you get extra days off!!
did you hear them blokes pretending to be skinner and baddiel singing footballs comin home for the german footy fans. whatsallthatabout? you would have thought they'd change the lyrics to something vaguely german, about fit birds, michael ballack and sausages or summats
Lots of variables; What does their contract state regarding entitlement, do you have a policy regarding time off in lieu.
Most companies who allow time off in lieu for bank holidays state in policy that it should be taken at a mutually acceptable time, therefore if you have good business reasons for it not to be on a particular date it covers you and likewise if your suggestion is unacceptable to them...
Sorry, it means talking to your employees again and perhaps compromising.

RE: did you hear them blokes Also - did you go to any of the games at the FanArenas? What about them two blokes who did the presenting of that little programme before the games kicked off? like a poor man's Dick and Dom without the "creamy muck-muck" references.
RE: did you hear them blokes hehe. yeah, well bizarre - watched all the games in the fanzone - did you do that shout-ometer thing where all the crowd shout as load as possible and the player kicks the ball into the goal depending on how loud you shout. as far as i could see the shouting bares no resemblance to what what happens on the screen and every shot goes into the goal. all very camp. as you say though, the birds were very tasty, ya. you going back at any point - when we get to the final , for example.
RE: did you hear them blokes Yes, we did do that, and also "was it a goal or not a goal".
No, don't think I'm going to go back there now as I'll struggle to get the time off work, unfortunately. How was the gay friendly hotel? Also, did where you stay have a ridiculously high number of shops selling hardcore pronography?

I think part time employees who do not work on days that fall on Bank Holidays (mainly Monday) are entitled to a pro rata share of that day as time off)
yeah did a bit of erm "shopping" in those establishments. gay friendly was good thanks - no loving seen in hallways, laundry room etc which was a tad disappointing. although we did have pink bed sheets. in those shops, came across quite a few things - one of those dolls which looks quite like a human crossed with an alien that you stick your nob into. it was well over a grand i think - surely you could just buy a refugee stroke thai bride for that? lots of shitting videos - they had a whole section dedicated to shitting. maybe i am naive but never seen such a vast array of videos of people shitting and vomiting into other peoples mouths - and then a butt plug called "the challenge" - at its widest point i would say it was the size of a large dinner plate. did the job anyway.
Every employee is entitled to bank holidays it's a legal requirement.
If they do not work on a Monday for example, then thay must be given a lieu day.

Sack the lazy ********. Me mate's got a waggon load of Albanians due next week. They'll work 7 days for a can of Kestrel and a scotch egg.
