Lots of them think that!

Have to agree with them as well. He may have helped to keep us up, but I still don't like him!

    Right...............

And which manager is liked by every player?

Even Bobby Robson and Stuart Pearce are/were hated by some players.

If Davey is such a w@nker then why have 3 players signed new contracts? And why when Ritchie was manager did half a dozen first team players stay for extra training with him and the academy?

These players who dont like him dont happen to be the ones that are not having their contracts renewed do they? Or the ones who have been disciplined?

The similarities with Spackman do keep coming up.

Hope to be proved wrong though.

    Being a barsteward doesn't necessarily

make you a bad manager anyway. Success and popularity with your staff are miles apart.

wasn't one of Ritchie's perceived faults............

by some on here of being "mates" with the players which meant he found it hard to drop them -personally I don't think Wenger Ferguson or Mourinho are mates with their players-ultimately the manager is a manager and his word goes-if players don't like the "Simon Davey stylee" then they can leave

Even the odious Spackman kept us up in his first season. The second season though ...

By all accounts, Brian Clough could be a 'barsteward' at times, but, he earned the respect of his players, as well.

He earned their respect by being successful. Davey may follow a similar path. Who knows? He has only been a manager for 5 months and has achieved already.

Don't care what the players think if the results are right. Three players already signed new deals, and rumours of two more. Nardiello and Colgan recently praised him in interviews. They can't dislike him that much.

IMO, The respect came from the way he treated them,it was the performance of his players, on the pitch, that made him successful.

Brian Clough and Sir Alex F could also be complete Barstuards
