I think Davey mentioned the players out of contract.

Saying he knew who he did and didn't want. Hopefully Hassell and Kozluk are still wanted. Wouldn't be surprised to see Steele leave.

    On Barnsley One Website.........

it doesn't sound like he's surplus to requirements to me...........

If Dennis Souza starts on Saturday he will join Stephen Foster on 32 starting appearances, the most of any player.

    From the trusts website:

Barnsley FC owner, Patrick Cryne, attended the Supporters Trust meeting on the 5th March 2009. The meeting was attended by over 100 members of the Supporters Trust as well as guests of the members. The meeting was well advertised to Trust members and non members and all members could attend if they wanted and were entitled to bring guests. Non members could also join the trust on the night and attend the meeting. At the start of the meeting, it was announced that this meeting would be a private meeting. Therefore in line with this decision no further information on the contents of the meeting will be divulged on the website at this time.

As part of our meetings, we invite a large number of guests to the meetings, and we organise the meetings so that the guests can speak freely and without prejudice. Therefore, we rarely allow the press to attend the meetings, unless agreed with the speakers, and we respect the request of the guests as to whether they want the information divulged into the wider audience. By the same reason, we do not record or video our meetings, so that the guests do not feel that they have to be constantly on their guard. We also ask that our members who attend the meeting, respect the decision of the trust and guests on whether the meetings are private or “open”, and largely this is respected.

We would like to thank Patrick for attending our meeting and entertaining the audience during the two hour question and answer session.

Al members of the Supporters Trust are welcome to come along to our monthly meetings, and for a trial period, they can bring a friend. We also take new memberships on the night, so why not come along and find out more.

trial periods for potential new members, not divulging information from the meeting sounds like some sort of secret society

I take it from your response P.C. did not want anything divulging to the public or was it a decision made by the trust?

From a personal veiwpoint I'd say it was more the trust using it as a 'look at what you may find out' if you join up rather than PC wanting to kep it hush hush. As far as I am concerned, anything he was willing to say in front of an audience is something that he must be comfortable with becoming public knowledge. Why else say it?

if meetings are not for the wider audience and it's information is to be kept within the confines of the meeting place why are you the allowed to advertise on a public domain as to when they are taking place?

I think you are off the mark

I suspect PC simply does not want his comments spraying accross the ether, certainly not by an "official route" such as the trust.

If his words were repeated then next time I suspect he would be less frank even if he chose to speak to a trust meeting again.

it's important for the trust to state the level of transparency and as such to give notice by of it's intended confidentility when advertising the meeting

The trust is entirely guided by the wishes of the guest speakers unless of course they want to annoy the **** out of them and prevent them from attending again / cooperating on other trust matters.

Its abart time some folks on here lived in the real world.

And why can I not go onto the trust website and read the minutes? (or is that still going to happen?). I am a member of the STrust but cannot make the meetings as I live 50 miles away. All members of the Trust should receive a copy of the minutes of any meeting. For the money I paid to join I don't feel as if I have had anything, other than a piece of card saying I am a member. It will probably be my one and only season as a member.

I understand that and see where you are coming from but why mention something in a public meeting where anyone can just turn up and listen in that they are unwilling to share in a public domain. just seems a bit strange as you and I both know that Pc could say we are having blue socks next season and within a few days the chineses whispers have started and it blue socks blue kit with pink hair bands. I'd hav thought that would be something he would be striving to avoid.

If I can respond to a few points raised

    1. DB3K it feels like I have been doing a long shift I assure you at work, but that would be a little far from truth. I am at a lot of meetings at the moment, trying to get everything done, before our new arrival, as well as preparing a nursery etc, so time for other (leisure?) activities is limited
    2. The transparacy raised by Baskerville, fair comment and in future, if we know in advance that no statements will be made over what is said at the meeting I will see that we can state that. If it is decided on the night, then it is more difficult.
    3. Regarding the meetings, we need to advertise the meetings so that people know and can come along, we made it so that guests could come along to encourage more people to come along and see what is involved. To be fair, some of our members do not agree with this, but the majority are keen for the trust to try this.
    4. To Ponty72. Do you have access to the members only area. If not drop me a pm and I will sort access. There I try to keep the site uploaded with the minutes of previous meetings (unfortunately I am not always that good). However, the minutes from Dec and January are there. If we were to post out minutes of all meetings it would cost in the region of £200 per time, it is a good point though that we need to do more, and I will take this to the board to look at options. Again if you want hard copies drop me your details via pm and I will sort.
    5. Anything else I will try to help within limitations, but bear with me if at the moment I cannot get back to you as soon as.

    owen
