Anyone know if it works? I was in my own world earlier going through no idea what speed I was going I'm sure I was under 30 but I always get paranoid about them. Cheers
You can go 33 mph. Your speedo always shows more than what you are doing anyway. So if you are doing 33, you are only doing 31 / 30 You can test this out by using a sat nav as that is accurate
Be careful relying on a GPS though - especially if its windy. My watch once recorded me running at 600km/h in the middle of the North Sea...
Honestly not sure what speed I was doing I think I was following traffic but I can't remember you know when you drive home and can't remember anything of the journey? Just in autopilot. Hopefully I'm lucky
I thought Barnsley MBC switched on only a percentage of the fixed cameras each week on a rotation basis and they publish which ones are going to be working that week in the Chron. That's how it used to be anyway.
It caught me once. Download the "Radarbot" app to your phone. Works a treat. I never drive without it!
I remember Top Gear doing an experiment to find how fast you had to be going to beat a Speed Camera once. 134 (that's ONE HUNDRED AND THITRTY-FOUR) mph!
When they were first introduced one of the detector devices was fitted to our works van, they were supposed to beep when a camera came in range.. I came back from Manchester and deliberately passed the one at 28mph on Cemetery Rd to try the device, it didn't beep so I turned left and came up Dodworth Rd and back on to Cemetery Rd to try again, unfortunately it didn't beep... more unfortunately I wasn't paying attention to my speedo and passed it at 34 mph and got a fine in the post.
