What are those cameras that clock you as you drive in and out of barnsley. Sure their not speed cameras but what are they for ??
think he meas as u come down sheffiled rd, near alhambra round about..... think there just cctv cameras to monitor traffic
Approach to and from alhambra RAB, doworth rd RAB and top of hoyle mill lane in and out of town. 1 camera per lane. Must have cost a few bob but just wondered what they were for. Seen them on motorway bridges over each lane as well
oh right, yeah I think that's all they're for. In theory the lights can be adjusted from a control room according to traffic flow can't they? One day they'll sort the ones at stairfoot out on a matchday
There to watch suspicios cars that venture down that way and traffic drugs back to the sheffield road area from the other districts of barnsley so i am told from a reliable source. They have a shortlist of number plates that are suspicious and thats what they look for. The drug runners use that road up and down quite alot apparently.
They look very much like ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras to me, scanning number plates and looking for a un-insured cars / stolen / no mot etc. I could be wrong but its no coincidence the amount of cars that has gone through the ones on Sheffiled Road and then a Police car has appeared from nowhere to stopped them outside Gala Bingo (opposite Morrisons) around the corner, anyone else noticed this?
They are automatic number plate recognition camers. They got my dad once for not having no insurance. (he didn't know, insurance company forgot to tell him it was up for renewal). They placed a pig on a motorbike in the layby outside the manx to collor him one day because they noticed he used that road at roughly the same time everyday on his way home from work. So be careful!
