Top lads - great spirit; the sort we used to see under AR Danny was cagey about promotion, but you could see it in his eyes - he knows they're up.
He's not coming to the dinner on the 24th - he went to one last week and "knew nothing" about the 'official' dinner until Tuesday just gone.

whats Danny like? In Mark Hodkinsons book he doesn't give him the best of write ups i seem to remember?
Met him about a dozen times now - mainly work, one wedding, one drunken night in central London. I'd say about as 'top' as top blokes can get. No airs or graces, media-friendly, a spade's a spade etc etc.. I wouldn't want him back at Oakwell, but can't help wondering what might have been if he'd not made that ghastly mistake and gone to t'fowls.
RE: Without intending to start a mass debate...... Oh, nowt to do wi' him going to Wednesday - I've just always been a staunch advocate of 'never go back', be it player or manager. There's rarely anything to gain and everything to lose. I had no problem with him jumping ship - job he'd allus dreamt of, yadda yadda.... - I just thought he was making a personal mistake, and so it proved. Wednesday fans' favourite to Sheffield pariah in a short space of time.
