Penny Dainties, better than gob stoppers for keeping you quiet, by the time you’d transformed that solid block of toffee into a chewy form you were knackered
I loved Spangles. I remember when they brought out the lemonade and orangeade flavours - lovely! I once cycled down to the paper shop for some Spangles. Stuck them in the back pocket of my jeans and set off up the hill again. Halfway home, they fell out of my pocket. I stopped, but before I could get to them a lorry came past and drove over them. By the time I got to them, they were 6 inches wide, a foot long, and about a millimetre thick. Needless to say, I left them there.
Owt that came free taped to the front of a comic, usually popping candy or some similar crap. Always went for the beano or dandy but if another comic had a free gift on it, that would get the nod. Fickle, even back then....
