...not seen one in the house for about 2 years but just come face to face with one in the downstairs toilet and nearly jumped out of my skin. Definitely one of the biggest I've ever seen in the house - wonder if the decent summer we've had means there's a bigger population of them both in terms of numbers and size?! I'm not terrified of them by any means but having not seen one for so long I do feel a bit uncomfortable having to share a house with these massive ones **shudders** Some might say man-up but why does anything need 8 ******* legs!
I think they're definitely getting bigger this year. I know a few people who are usually not scared of spiders at all who have come across big ones this year that they haven't dared to go near without some kind of protection (be that a well placed book or a glass). And now we have stories of false widows in barnsley. Brilliant
