Spoke to someone to day who played for Davey at Preston Academy

    said Davey was cold and detached, never listened to anyone and the most stubborn and pig-headed person he'd ever met and above all, a complete ********.

    To be fair Davey ended the lad's career by booting him out of the academy but the description rings true.

    Whenever I've been in Simon Daveys company I've found him to be totally opposite to those claims.He's polite ,witty and has a ready smile.Having said that if he'd finished my sons career I suppose I'd have made things up about him.

    I spoke to an academy player released last season....

    at a casino who said much the same about Davey being cold/detached.

    I guess you have to take it with a pinch of salt since he was released by the club, but he didn't like him - said Davey was the one who'd signed him too.

    perspective

    at times we can all be complete *****. fergie can be a complete **** as can pretty much every successful manager. many managers are cold with their players or deal with them aggression. before anyone gets silly and thinks i'm comparing SD to fergie et al i'm not. i think that this thread needs a little perspective
