    for a sceptic like me!!

My much loved mum in law died a few weeks ago, my wife and I came across a few photos of her mum and dad when they were young.
The missus bought a few photo frames and put them up on the wall, and wanted a table lamp to put a bit of light on them, we've
been looking in various places and she's never seen the one she wanted, we were out in Donny this week and called in Ward Bros. a
buge shop for all furnishings on three floors all separated in different rooms. We started at the bottom and worked our way to the top floor,
thought we seen everything and were just setting off home when we noticed a room we'd missed, as soon as we walked in she spotted the perfect lamp...exactly what she'd been looking for....I turned the ticket around to get the model name to tell the sales staff....it was called the 'Ellis' lamp
my mum in laws maiden name!!

    I like that.
It asks the question is that just coincidence or was there some other power that drew you there.

    It's definitely a coincidence.

Coincidence, fate, chance, or just plane weird. Who knows! There's just no logical explanation so it's a question of what you personally feel it is. But it definitely makes for a spooky tale.

Thought you were going to say that she was standing in that room waiting for you! I've been round Wards a couple of times and it is that kind of place. All creaky floors, undiscovered cubby holes, rooms at different levels, even on the same floor. Old building so bound to be haunted by someone, or something.

    Nice story though.

I often wonder about this stuff

about 6 years or so ago my Mother died. I am the only son so inherited her house and estate. We decided to sell both Mums house and our own and move to a better place. We agonised over if we were doing the right thing, but did go ahead. On the completion day we went to the estate agents for the key to the new bungalow.. only to be told the keys were at their main branch in the next town 15 miles away. We made a frantic dash there time was short and the next day was good Friday and the easter break. We just made it in time, I put the keys in my pocket and drove to the new place. The Lady we had bought from was called Gladys M Brewer. We pulled up on the drive and approached the door I took out the keys and went to open the door... as I said we had agonised as to if were doing the right thing.I noticed the key fob.. it was a written meaning of a Christian/first name... I read it and wondered the name , I turned it over and the name was Margaret, that stopped me in my tracks........ that was my Mothers first name... Gladys M Brewer's middle name was Margaret too as it appeared...I handed the fob to my wife she read it and we both just kinda froze for a moment... It felt as if Mum was giving us her approval, but it sure made the hair stand up on our necks.
