Fantastic year for sport this year - going to be a tough choice. Bradley wiggins for me though - amazing achievement in what has to be one of the ultimate sporting challenges. Oh and may I add my congratulations to Andy Murray - heart stopping and brilliant in equal measures last night!!!

I agree, any from about 20 can win it.

    I'm going for Mo Farah

I still think Bradley Wiggins should get it but I am biased.

I would go with Wiggins too, got a feeling it will be Murray now though, grand slam and gold medal.

Would be suprised if anyone other than Bradley Wiggins wins, however there are several who deserve it, and any other year they'd have won it.

Is running not a sport too?

Seeing as that just equates to moving your legs faster.

    Course it is.

You could reduce owt to the lowest common denominator and say it's not a sport.

    Wiggins, Farah, Ennis. IMO.

    Politically correct, too.

Really? I know she won a couple of golds, but in the same year we had the first British TdF winner, the first British winner of a tennis masters in donkeys years etc. she doesn't come anywhere near close in my opinion.

    1. Wiggo
    2. Farah
    3. Murray

    Re: consider her age

Not being harsh but she faces a much reduced number of potential competitors. As I say, I don't think 2 medals is anywhere near enough this year.

Fortunately its unlikely to be a footballer this time

For me its Wiggins but its easy to argue a strong case for Mo Farrah, Jess Enniss David Weir or Andy Murray and as said above in another year any of them would be worthy winners

I might even watch it this year

Exactly. Makes the time Ryan Giggs got it look pretty ridiculous now. So many to choose from this year. Must have been a poor group to choose from that year.

But that's the thing isn't it. It's all about opinion, and it's not about debate. Everyone just votes for who they think deserves it and the one with most votes wins...simple.

I think all mentioned would be worthy winners.
