I noticed a couple of posters last week mentioned they went. I am off to Cardiff next Sat - coupla questions please .....
Is it a set song list, or does he make it up as he goes along like the old days ?
Is he as energetic as he was the last two times I saw him (85 and 88)
Is Clarence there ?
Is Patty there ?

Wide range of material but lots of great stuff from the Magic album. He does vary it so can never be sure what the set list will be (unfortunately it always seems to include a diddlydiddly Irish folk dance at the end). He's still running round like a loon even at his age and voice is rock solid. Clarence is there and has his own throne to save his dodgy legs. Patty is at home to "stop the kids from selling all the memorabilia on ebay!"
I was at the first night of the Emirates shows, last friday. He went on at bout half7, twenty to 8. And played straight through with almost no breaks until gone half10. Friggin amazing!! I think it was probably a set song list that theyd decided on some time that day i imagine, but its definately a different set with every show with a few common songs for each show, eg. Radio Nowhere, Born to Run, Rosalita etc. He opened with Tenth Av. Freeze Out for us, but the night after played that in the encore. He also played Thunder Road for us, but didnt play JungleLand, and played that the following night, so its either one or the other i think, but not both in one show. So it really is anyones guess at to what he'll play. Energetic? Energetic doesnt even come close. For three hours he absolutely went for it. I dont know about in 85/88 cos i was only born in 86, but jeez! For anyone, n'er mind a feller of nearly 60 to perform like that would be absolutely shatttering, he was just amazing! The whole band were, and i can see why theyve two weeks off to gear up for the Cardiff show. Calrence was most certainly there, it just wouldnt be the E-Street Band without him. Patty wasnt though. Hope that helps, sorry for the ramble but i absolutely loved it. I am very jelous that youre gona Cardiff. Have a good one buddy. Oh and theres a load of clips from the Emirates gigs on youtube, jsut type in Springsteen and Emirates.
Played a total of 28 songs on Friday night at Emirates, for 2 hours and 45 mins. A great show, worked the audience well. Very entertaining. Clarence was there, but no Patti, although she is listed in the programme (£15). Go to Springsteens website for the setlists of recent concerts.
Cheers mate 85 and 88 were amazing, only seems like two mins ago. Glad it sounds like nothing has changed.
Didn't bother with the last fewtours where he has experimented with Gospel and Segar sessions and stuff, so looking forward to it !
