Anyone going to the Guiseley friendly who will be able to look at the squad numbers? I know they aren't set in stone but they mostly stay the same from the first real friendly game. If anyone could remember or take note this would be appreciated as I will add to Wikipedia. From the Hungarian Friendly Photos: McCarthy: 2 Lindsay: 4 MacDonald: 5 Hammill: 7 Bird: 8 Bradshaw: 9 Isgrove: 11 Moncur: 12 Mowatt: 19 Sessi: 22 Guessing that most of these bar Bird, Moncur and Mowatt will stay the same plus Davies (1), Townsend (13). Any thoughts anyone?
Would have thought Moncur would keep his 10 to be honest and also Mowatt likes the 27 shirt but maybe he'll change it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Will be interesting to see what numbers they wear at Guiseley, and if they will actually have their names on the shirts, or just numbers like in Hungary.
Last pre-season Bradshaw wore 5 for most of the games, official squad numbers won't be released until the league needs them confirmed like they did last year. https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2016/august/201617-squad-numbers-confirmed/
Was wondering when they came out last year, thanks. Am guessing that it will be around the same time this year?
I'll be interested to see who gets 8. Guessing it'll be McGeehan (unless he wants a different one) but reckon it'll give some insight as to who we'll be relying on in midfield.
Anyone else more interested in the ability they have rather than the squad number. I wish theyd go back to 1 through 11
Squad numbers won't say everything. There'll be first teamers who like obscure numbers. John Terry has worn 26 all his career. For us, Mowatt apparently likes 27. Doesn't mean he won't play. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got to say I'm with you on this. I guess there's money to be made via the merchandising of shirts with name and number on though.
Agreed tbh, all I’m doing it for is the Wikipedia! With all the loan signings these days and usually bigger squads the numbers really don’t seem to matter anymore! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
