spoke to a Blackpool fan.. who said he's been absolutely fantastic since he joined them - whether in defence or midfield. Will be interesting to see if he's lost some weight and has a new lease of life when he comes back.
williams always looks fit and raring to go in pre-season friendlies, but looks to have burned himself out by the time season starts.
Always thought Williams to be quite good technically but he just doesnt seem to carry that into the games for us.
Williams Always looked a good player pre season and in the reserves but looked to lack pace.</p> His spell at Blackpool looks to have done him the world of good.</p> I am a bit surprised that Davey is recalling him as pace seems to be the number one requirement for Championship full backs. </p>
Bench at best to start though depends on who we sign and pre season performances. Davey thinks he's better in midfield does he not?
RE: where do we need improving? its interesting how at least 2 of the positions you list we have enough players (whether they are the correct quality is another matter 3 LB's is enough as is 4 central midfielders, so unless some of them leave we wont be getting any players there certainly a left sided player and a centre back are certainties as we have spaces in the 1st 11, hopefully nyatanga and maybe Kyle Reid
If we start next season relying on the left backs and central midfield we currently have then we are doomed to get hammered regularly. There's nothing to say any of the squad we have under contract will remain at BFC come August. Hopefully by the measure of the club statement we are looking to get in some pacey players in other areas than the wings. Hopefully we will see a squad built with strength in depth.
