Jamil Adam i would have thought. He naturally drops in to a attacking mid area when playing upfront.

    Oh that's great....

I was going to go to Frickley but I've seen all that lot play before. Might as well make the extra effort to go to Gainsborough to see the triallists.

I'm the same. Not sure which to go to now...

thinking the Gainsborough one might be a better game and with the added bonus of some unknown trialists. :)

So essentially Simon Davey has done such a fantastic job for us

That even when having to resort to starting the likes of hibbert and lazarus we are still unable to field 2 teams of 11 in friendlies.

We've got one side made up of a keeper, 2 defenders, 3 midfielders and 4 strikers plus a trialist defender and another made up of a keeper, 3 defenders, 4 midfielders and 2 strikers plus 3 unknown trialists brought in to make up the numbers.

    Excellent job so far simon...

I thought he'd been told by Cryne we must have a leaner squad

Although I agree we need some new players but the press seem to think they are imminent

Cryne cant have told him that

or he wouldnt have allowed him to make a bid for a 9th striker

    Cryne stated in an interview....

...that this year we would have a better but smaller squad which would allow the younger players to come through and have an opportunity.

Davey's mentioned a target of 18 first team players with the development squad as well.

It's pre-season, we'll have another 3 in by the start of the season.

    Chill art.

PS - 9th Striker? Macken, Bogdanovich, Hume(?), Odejayi then Sodje and Adam in the development squad.

    Yeah we're definately top heavy

But I thought the plan was to have a smaller squad of better players. Whether that will translate in to reality or it will be a smaller squad of worse players! Although Gray and Hammill would be a promising start

So 3 first teamers, 2 coming back from long injuries 2 in our 'development' squad and a 16 year old.

You'd normally be getting the tit on if we weren't signing a striker.

    Championship quality as well, eh?

    The point is

We have no cover for certain positions, we dont even have an attacking midfielder yet time and money is being wasted hoping that davey will eventually work out what a striker is. seems completely crazy to me and the situation really showed itself against ferencvaros (not too sure on the spelling) when we went through 6 strikers and finished the game with 2 strikers in midfield because we had no cover at all for thos positions but had so many strikers we didnt know what to do with them all
