Presumably it is either not a 'free' transfer, but supplementing WBA paying off his last year, OR they are negotiating a fee for WBA to give permission for Steele to play in the final against them. Remember, if we do have to play them, the loan window has shut by then so Letheren would have to play. if we can't get them to agree to it Davey might be saying, '**** it, I'll get Foster off Fergie' - or someone else. Unfortunately, having a keeper for the final (should we make it) over-rides sentiment

 

sorry but in this sentiment over rides me ..Luke was the man who kept us in the cup at Anfield

If the possibility of a West Brom - Barnsley cup final is all that is stopping us...

Then we should just sign him. Cant turn away the chance of signing a quality keeper, because of something that might not even happen.

Personally, i reckon there's more to it than that, especially with the way WBA seem to have tried to push us into a corner to take over the contract.
