Sorting out a stag do next month, in Blackpool for the weekend.

Any advice on pubs, or other evening establishments, to visit or equally avoid?

    thanks

Get to Prague, cheap air deals, cheaper beer, hotels & smokes. We went for 3 days cost £190 for fares & hotel.

Unless Prague as improved in the last 3 years i would'nt advise anyone to go.

I'm going to Brussels in September on a stag do 10,000 pubs apparently my aim is to have 1/2 in each :D

All of these points I agree with. It's completly sh*t however....

The groom has decided that's where he wants to go, the best man has agreed and now I am getting them both out of a hole of their own making

I would recommend staying away from the pubs on the front as they are the most expensive for drinks and some are really grubby. Stay up the north end, maybe try Norbeck Castle they do some good deals. Then go into the town centre from the north end and there you will find some better bars and clubs to go in. That's were more of the locals go rather than the tourists.

I went on an hen night and we stayed at the Norbeck, the bar in there is ok and there is a big hotel nearby which has a nightclub attatched. Alot better than the sea front pubs

Forget the 10,000 pubs, just get settled at the Delerium Cafe

Over 2,000 bottles beers to choose from, magic stuff!

Gynn Pub up past North Pier is really good........

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=gynn+pub+blackpool&meta=&aq=3&oq=gynn

Huge food portions at cheap prices, cheap pints, flash pool tables, big screens all over the place, dart board, DJ on at weekends, usually a quiz, polite staff and an adventure playground to mess about on when ya pissed.

Manchester on the seafront or Castle up back of Coral Island amusement arcade. There's plenty of good places up just past North Pier on the otherside of the road including Wetherspoons and a strip club next door to a night club that the name escapes me.

Hey it does but be easy enough to find. At least you don't have ladies in Blackpool wanting to stamp your hand for cheap strip club entry like those Wellington Street girls do on a saturday night who work for Wildcats.

Depends on the time and weather

If you're making an early start and the weather is good, start pleasure beach end and sit outside Yates's and Dutton Arms before moving up to New Manchester and Foxhall for something more lively.

If you like cask ale, the Pump and Truncheon behind the Sea Life centre is a welcome respite from the relentless tackiness of the seafront.

Of the evening, I would aim for Talbot Square area. Start in the Mitre on West Street. It's a small, friendly pub with mixed local and tourist clientelle and serves a good pint to wet your whistle in the meantime. Enjoy it. It'll be your only good pint all night. Talbot Square will be heaving and the pubs expensive, not to mention almost as grubby as the clientelle. Welcome to Blackpool.
There's plenty of choice but expect to be stung with cover charges on the door. The Counting House doesn't charge (or didn't last time I went) and The Litten Tree near Walkabout is usually a good bet for an after-midnight drink with minimal queues and costs.

Scruffy Murphy's is a quiet and drab Irish bar off the track a bit but had a cracking pint of Bombardier last time out - could be worth a look.

Lap dancing in Blackpool is ****. Due to local bylaws aimed at curbing stag-do sleaziness, knickers stay on at all times. The places are all a standard £5 in, £5 a bottle and £10 a dance and not worth it. That said, if you go to Blackpool for a weekend and end up paying to see a slapper stripping off, you've done it wrong anyway.

I'd love to see you try and do more than 30 in two days

Isn't weak that Belgian stuff you know.

Although I can imagine you'd look quite fetching with your Man City tracksuit on and a half of Pink Killer in your hand . . . . . .
