As i intended to watch last night's Euro final and having no particular interest which team won, i decided to have a bet on the match to create some interest. I have an on-line account with Stan James so i checked out the various bets that were available on their Web Site. The 'stand out' bet for me was on the ' Corner Handicap ' Italy plus 3 corners start @ 11/10. As my account was empty i deposited £30 into my account and proceeded to place my bet ITALY + 3 CORNERS, £30 @ 11/10 ( winning bet would return £63 including stake ) To my amazement ' Multi-Million Pound Company ' Stan James would only accept a maximum bet of £9 ( Which i declined to accept ) HOW PATHETIC IS THAT? The match corner stats, by the way, finished Spain 3 Italy 3 ( +3 would have been 6 ) Thank you Mr James for doing me out of £33, don't expect me to be back.
The mistake you made was thinking that you were betting with a bookmaker.. the reality is is that there are NO bookmakers left in this country.. trhe companies pretending to be bookmakers are accountants....the only system left where you are sure to get on is the exchanges.. basically where you bet against other punters..ie betfair....
