To move on to the most important matter of all on this site; Football and BFC instead of all this conspiracy theory talk! So with everyone fit who would everyone have as there starting XI with reason why? And who knows AR might be monitoring this a use a selection ff Mine would be as follows using 4-4-2; GK: Colgan (has looked good this season and made some crucial saves) RB: Tonge (seems toget better with each game) LB: Austin (gets stuck in, although not always when nesecary, but i like the commitment) CB: Reid (our most consistant defender) CB: Watt (his style seems to suit this division, although i have to say Kay has impressed me this year and Carbon has been playing well) RW: Shuker (even on a off day his work rate is still up there with the best off them and gets up and down the wing well) LW: Howard (Is getting better by the game, gets stuck in, scores and can beat a man) CM: McPhail (This season he is working harder, looks fitter, and when on form is the best all round player/passer on the pitch and probably in the divison, having his best spell of form for us i think) CM: Burns (Works hard, gets forward and does the simple things well) CF: Hayes (despite a dip in form and a goal drought, since the blackpool game where fans were starting to slaughter him for been lazy, has up'd his work rate and is a skillful palyer on the ball) CF: Richards (I think he is another who is getting better by the game, works hard for the team and is one of the less selfless players. I know everyone loves Nards, but he is just not doing the business for me at the minute)
My Starting XI GK: Flinders (Although Colgan has to me improved immensley, we should not overlook this undoubted talent, yes young, put equally impressive) RB: Hassell (not been at his best, but with a run in the side, he can do it again, unlucky tonge comes in second, yes, definately unlucky) LB: Williams (Lost his way in recent games, but, I think this lad has a real future, another undoubted talent, but I have heard rumours a bereavement has affected him badly.) CB: Reid (Have to admit, I didn't really take much notice of this chap, until reading this board and the rave reviews he was getting. I made a point of watching him very closley, and have to agree, he is outstanding) CB: Watt (only one game, made a couple of errors, but certainly seem to rub off and put confidence throughout the pitch. I like carbon, but injured way too often. Kay has not performed for me (with exception of saturday) and looks short of his capabilities this year) RW: Shuker/Devaney (Honestley can't make my mind up here, Shuker to me is not setting himself on fire like last year. Devaney is getting better with more matches, and I have to be honest, on current form if I had to choose it would be devaney) LW: McPhail (Their probably wasn't anyone who critised his "lazy" displays more than me last year, but... Definately on form at the moment,LW due to required physical battles that CM needs in this division) CM: Howard (I like the look if this kid. Apparently he wasn't so "get stuck in" at swindon, but this doesn't seem to be the case at oakwell.) CM: Burns (Player of the year so far for me. Excellent grit and determination, I am sure a Howard/Burns partnership will be more solid than most) CF: Hayes/Richards (Another one to question, If hayes perks up a bit, there should be no stopping him. But Richards has been in fine fettle the last few games. If I had to choose it would be Hayes (but he shouldn't be so greedy)) CF: Nardiello (Don't care if he wondered about lost on saturday, this last is pure goals given the right service. When he is up for it, he can cause damage.) Others to watch.... Kell? Have no Idea what this lad is about, so I can't comment on his abilities. Jarman? Would have liked to see him get more of an opportunity, A strong lad, and certainly tries. Maybe a bit young, but a few runs off the bench can't do him any harm This is my stab, so don't shoot me...
RE: My Starting XI Colgan - Playing really well this season. The strong competition from Scott Flinders is making him perform. This can only be good for us ! Tonge - Bobby Hassell isn't performing and Tonge is a youngster with a lot of potential. Looking forward to seeing Tonge in a midfield role soon though Reid - Captain fantastic - enough said Watt - Obvious pedigree. Had a solid debut but would like to see him play against a taller, stronger forward than Fryatt of Walsall. Austin - Just pips Williams because of his experience and desire to win every tackle. Seems to play beter at left back than right back for some reason ? Shuker - Great work rate, good skill and good pace. Our top scorer and therefore should command a starting spot. Burns - Does all the nitty gritty work for the team. My player of the season so far. Hasn't had as many shots in recent games. Lets hope his ankle injury isn't too bad. Mcphail - Undoubted talent, sometimes can be portrayed as sauntering through a game. Has too much quality for this division, playing well again recently. Howard - Started really really well in his Barnsley Career. Like to see him in centre midfield but left mid will have to do for now ... Hayes - On the goal trail once more following his shinned goal against Walsall. Works really hard for the team and i think this goes un-noticed by many of his doubters Richards - Very strong, quick and knows where the onion bag is. Doing his upmost to earn that contract past december ! Subs Jarman - Looks lively, scores every week for the reserves. Has a strong, physical build and looks like he could have a bright future. Haven't seen him stop running when he has come on the pitch. Nardiello - Not doing the business for me at the moment. Got his contract and will just sit it out by the looks of things Devaney - scored our winner at rotherham but apart from that he has failed to impress me Williams - Had a great pre season, failed to live up to the hype he caused Flinders - Colgan just pips him because of the Irishman's form this season
