Interesting statistics for Camden cos that's a supposedly 'hip' place to live by all accounts. I was working in Primrose Hill (Camden) recently, and the local rag was covering stories of people having their disabled badges stolen from their cars. Apparently this sort of crime was rife around Camden.

so according to that there were only 38 offences committed in Barnsley, and they still couldn't be bothered to come out when my daughters car was broken into who makes these statistics up?

Im from Barnsley and Policed Camden for 5 years.

Camden is like Afghanistan compared to Barnsley. All who live in Barnsley should be greatful of how safe it is. Camden covers not only the posh areas but v rough areas. Put it this way in one year in the Robbery Squad I personally reported 80 street robberies. Thats one officer in a unit of 40. I doubt there are a total of 80 reported in the year in Barnsley, nevermind 80 per officer. Dont get me wrong there are some very nice parts, but it changes from street to street. It would drive me mad when mi Mrs would go to the bingo in Camden Town, because there were a gang of Somali Lads who targeted women near to the bingo hall. They would either beat up women and nick there stuff or sexually assault them. I couldnt see that going on outside the Mecca or Granada in town. Thats just the tip of the iceberg. Put it this way. Im not planning to make regular social visits back. Just remember this if you visit. IGNORANCE IS BLISS!

So you don't miss it then? :pff Furthermore on Camden; i've been up to the Electric Ballroom on anumber of occasions for various gigs and it always seems decidedly dodgy around that area.

Loved every minute of working there. Nasty stuff but couldnt take it seriously.

Because there was so much ****. Had to have a lifestyle change. Mrs made us move home because got married and settling down, so had to transfer to North Yorks. I was doing a job at the Electric Ballroom back in December. Its not that bad. Your safer in there than on the street outside. Ive got so many stories.

Where do you get "only 38 offences" from?

    It's approx 8360 offences!

    You missed this bit
"Crime statistics are per 1,000 of the population within the local authority area."

    More "isolated incidents."

What you failed to notice is that the fights were started by the unprovoked racial attacks on the Somalis by the bingo women.</p>

    Electric Ballroom.....

It was definitely ok indoors...... but outside there were several little gangs hiding in the shadows. On one occasion, after watching the Ordinary Boys, myself and a mate got a reduction in a taxi fare to Catford on account that we were the chief security organisers (as if!) :pff
