Ritchie, nice bloke, BAD track record. Hart, not nice bloke, BAD track record. Gudjon, TOP bloke, GOOD track record.

Stats don't lie. Good managers don't become bad, and bad managers don't become good. I said at the time, giving Ritchie the job was a mistake, his record is nearly as bad as Harts'. We needed a manager with a good track record of getting promotion out of the lower divisions. We didn't get one. Ronnie Moore has that record, and will succed at Oldham. Gudjon is another, and will succeed at Notts County.

    We've cocked it up -AGAIN.

Ronnie Moore would never have been a success at Oakwell, never in a million years.
As for Gudjon, don't forget, his early successes didn't last and at the time that his services were dispensed with his record wasn't good and his tactics were for the most part as unbelievable as Ritchie's today.

I think you'll find Gudjon well up the list of BFC's best managers, and how on earth can you say categorically that Moore wouldn't have suceeded here? You nor I have absolutely no idea of how he would have done.

Then my statement is no more contentious than yours was!

Maybe you should take into consideration the state of the club was in when Gudjon was in charge.

How much better condition do you think it is now? Do you think that we haven't signed more players because we don't want or need them?

it's not all perfect now, but it has improved.

We were in a right mess back then, in my opinion we are in a better position, financially, now compared to then.

Think you'll find that Ritchie is under similar financial constraints as Gudjon was, Roundsie!

I dunno - have you SUPPORTED any of our managers since Danny-boy?? :pff

Give Andy R. a chance - we're only 6 games into the season, there's plenty of time to turn things round.
Besides - he's not been able to field 3 of his preferred first team choices yet - Kell, Howard and Hassell.

Why is it that Barnsley fans have to start criticising their manager as soon as we hit a rough patch?

We have known nothing but bad patches for years and years.

I agree with Roundsman....Moore and Gudjon were more likely to bring sucess in the short term.

Yes. I supported Gudjon, and I still support Ritchie. I simply don't think he was the right choice. Time will tell.
