Have we ever lost three home games inside a week before? It must be rare as rocking horse **** - normally we barely lose three at home in a season, let alone three in a row, even less three in a week...
In 93/4 (Viv's season, first home games) we drew on opening day 1-1, then lost to boro 4-1 on a Tuesday (and got an absolute hiding), lost 3-2 at home to Brum on the Saturday, before finally beating Forest 1-0 on 11th September. Then lost the next home game to Leicester 1-0. So that was a pretty bad home start and Viv's was a shocking season in all though finally finished 18th. Later in the season we lost 5 on the bounce at home. In the first 10 league home games we won 1 (v forest), drew 2 (v wba and bolton) and lost 7! 92/3 (Machins last season, first home games of season), lost 1-0 v west ham, drew 0-0 with millwall (H), lost 1-0 home to Wolves, drew 1-1 with derby, lost 2-1 to peterborough before finally recording our first home win on 10th October. 5 points in first 9 games. But still finished 13th. 91/2... lost 3-0 against sunderland, then 2-1 against brighton, then lost 3-0 against watford before finally beating ipswich 1-0 on 14th september. In first 6 games got 1 point and finished 16th.
Wasn't that first win against Ipswich? I remember working in Leeds on shifts at the time and going in on a night shift after that win and everyone taking the piss applauding!
1-0 v Ipswich was in 91/2, and a certain David Currie. First home win in 92/3 was when bertie biggins made his home debut and we beat Luton 3-0
