They have now kept two clean sheets in 30 games, conceded 29 in 13 and 80 for the season in all competitions - more than in the 2021/22 relegation season.

It was the 11th penalty Barnsley have conceded this season, with nine being scored.

No team in any division at any level is going to be successful with these stats.

The defence is the main weak link, it was from the off, I mean we had a lad from pontefract collieries thrown straight in it, but somehow things just went for us early doors, Roberts was in great form and everything Cole hit went in.

that couldn’t continue and the recruitment in January to strengthen it didn’t work out. You’re not going to score 3/4 every week so that’s why we’ve lost more than we’ve won.

We can argue about quality of performance last night and have differing opinions but without the amateur mistakes last night it’s a 1-1 draw. We just don’t even give ourselves a fighting chance with the goals we give away so softly.
