That's the question? Just got back from a London weekend including taking in the Watford game. To say I was gutted at 5 o'clock last night is an understatement. Watching the Reds is like riding a roller coaster. At ten to five a mate had text to say we were 6 pts clear of Forest and at five to five it was down to 1 pt!! Hammill was on fire yesterday and if he doesn't start tomorrow Davey should be sacked before a ball is kicked. How on earth we started yesterday with our best finisher out on the wing and two out and out wingers sat on the bench is mind boggling. A lot has been made about Davey's tactics costing us points by sitting back but I honestly don't think that was the case yesterday. At 1-0 we were all over Watford but our lack of a killer instinct in and around the box was again sadly lacking (Boggy anyone?). Mullers error of judgement was a shocker and cost us dear. Tomorrow is now a MUST win game. From here on in we need 6 points to survive I reckon and even that might not be enough. Looking at Forest's last 3 games, there's a very good chance that they will pick up 7 or 9 points. Assuming they lose at the Blunts that would give them 52/54 in total. Norwich's last 4 games could comfortably reap them another 8 points, which would give them 51 and they have a better goal difference. Sorry to say it, but things don't look good for us this time around. If you were a betting man and you looked at the remaining fixtures of Forest, Norwich and Barnsley, who would you tip for the drop....??
I'm not a betting man But I think we'll pick up draws with Swansea, Coventry & Wolves, narrowly win at Plymouth and lose at Reading. I wonder if 52 points will be enough to survive, certainly hope so.
You say that but where are we going to get the points? Having seen Swansea on tv this season, they are a good side and it'll be a tall order to beat them for starters. Reading and Coventry away will bring no more than another point if anything at all. Wolves at home will be draw at best which would leave us needing a win at Plymouth on the last day to stand any chance. Norwich and Forest are no mugs and their run-ins are muxch easier than ours.
Agree with most of what you have written there, but... ...I don't think Norwich will comfortably get eight points from Watford, Ipswich, Reading and Charlton. I think they'd be doing well to get six really - maybe less. I'd back us to stay up because of the position that Norwich have put themselves in, but as you say, tomorrow is three points or bust. Depends if Davey will play two out and out wingers, and Boggie up front for ninety minutes. Hamill must start. We have to get men into the box, and we have to deliver the ball into the danger area. Three points or nothing. If we get 50 points we'll be fine - so we have to find a win and a draw. If we can't find that we deserve to get relegated.
RE: Agree with most of what you have written there, but... Norwich will beat Watford tomorrow and Ipswich away next week, as they are in freefall. Reading at home should see them good for another point as they will be in the play-offs with nowt to play for. Charlton away on the last day should also see at least another point.
were down get it in to your thick heads now dont listen to your heart its clouding your judgement we have dropped 19 points to the worst 5 teams in the league we deserve to go down and will
RE: Agree with most of what you have written there, but... Call me an eternal optimist, but I don't see Norwich playing well - they look shakey. Watford aren't very good, but they are physical and direct, which could cause Norwich problems. Watford do have decent strikers who can find the back of the net when given the chance (ahem Muller). So I reckon that could be a score draw. I think Ipswich will be a score draw because it almost always is. That's two points. I think they'll get beaten by Reading - it's fine people saying that the sides in the playoffs will take their foot off the gas because they want to save it for the big games, but you're nervous and you don't want to lose your form or knock your confidence with a defeat to a poor side. The final game against Charlton - you've got a relegated side with absolutely no fear and nothing to lose, but I think they'll pick up a win somewhere along the line. So I'd say five or six points for Norwich.
RE: Stay up.by skin of our teeth . we are defo due that bit of luck we have only lost 1 out of five so our form aint too bad.
This is the remainder of our season. Win against Swansea. Lose at Coventry. Draw at Reading. Win against Wolves. Battered against Plymouth. We'll piss it.
