So he wouldn't sign a new contract even if we offered him one now. He wants to run it down and see what transpires next summer.

    Which translates as.....

"I won't be signing a new contract here. And as much as I profess to love the club and it's fans, by not signing a new deal, the club won't recieve any money for me. So, there is the chance I could be flogged before the end of January."

I can see his point though

You cant knock his ambitions to play for England and in the Prem and there is no doubt that playing for Barnsley doesnt help - He lists keepers who are no better than him who played for " bigger" clubs and got called up and this summer we had the daft decision to take Birminghams reserve keeper who hasnt even played in the championship ahead of him - does anyone seriously think that if Butland had been the Barnsley reserve keeper he would have got called up - I very much doubt it

I suspect if a top championship side comes in for him in Jan he will be off

The dreaded Barnley Chronicle interview. They had that nasty piece on Howard just before he left, they had an interview with Buttercup last friday days before he left and now this....

It's a reasonable report, and he says he'd like to stay but he feels he's not getting the national recognition he would elsewhere. He doesn't even criticise the club for this, he states "so-called bigger clubs".

So if we had longer highlights on the Football League show he'd be in with a chance of an England call up? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The man is seriously deluding himself, if he was good enough to be a prem goaly and then an England goaly then he would have been snapped up by now, I wonder how many premiership scouts have watche him play in his 170+ games for us? Probably all of them.

fekking chronicle should be shut down!!!!! ..............not cos of this superstitious claptrap............but because it is shlte and in cahoots with houghton's mob.

P.S. When thereev buys the club, it will be lock stock and barrel .... no council involvement, no freebies for the hangers on at said council.....nothing. If they wanna come, pay up..............bunch a freeloaders.
