Only finance needs to be settled.

Steele has established himself at the Oakwell No 1 ahead of Tony Warner, who was signed after Heinz Muller was injured and ruled out for the rest of the season.

Warner has returned to Fulham. His loan spell ended yesterday. He played three games for Barnsley.

Steele, who is only 23, became an instant Barnsley hero with his performance in the FA Cup tie win at Liverpool. He has won the player of the round award for that and part of his prize is to be on the VIP guest list at Wembley for the Cup Final.

Barnsley Reserves drew 1-1 with Sheffield Wednesday last night.

Barnsley striker Michael Coulson equalised after Deon Burton scored with a header at Hillsborough. Coulson goes straight back into the first team squad for Saturday's Championship clash with Sheffield Wednesday at Oakwell.

Last night's reserves' match marked Dwayne Mattis's return from serious injury. He broke a leg in October playing for Walsall but came through 90 minutes last night.

Barnsley Reserves: Letheren, Jennings, Smith, Potter (Deonshire 33 mins), Waterfall, Johnson, Butterfield, Mattis, Ricketts, Fedorenko (Warburton 81), Coulson (Watts). Unused subs: Ormsby, Free.

Tickets for the FA Cup quarter final with Chelsea will go on general sale at Oakwell on Monday at 9am. Barnsley have announced that supporters will be limited to two each. They can be bought for cash at East Stand turnstiles.

A second consortium is negotiating with Sheffield Wednesday supporters group Wednesdayite over their shares as the takeo <div id="ds-mpu"></div>ver race hots up.</div>

A VIP guest at the cup final?

What are they going to do? Have a runner come onto the pitch with beer and snap whilst play is up the other end?
