Stefan Payne to Shrewsbury Town on Loan until the end of the season. Bit surprised. Are we expecting someone coming in?
Great club for him to go to to prove he's cut out for it. Watched Shrewsbury for a number of years when I lived in Shropshire. He'll get lots of support from fans and think he'll smash it there. Hope he does.
Could be a good move for him to help bridge the gap to Championship level longer term. I can't see how we'd allow this move without having someone lined up to come in, otherwise we're looking painfully short of options up front if anything happens to Armstrong or Bradshaw. I await further developments.
He's clearly not quite of the standard we need just now - hopefully he'll get a regular game and improve. Smart move all round but as you say, it leaves us Olive Oyl thin for forwards. Must be someone lined up. At least we hope so Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We must have. Makes sense, he isn't going to get much game time here and it gives him the chance to play regular league football.
Good move for him. I said yesterday that I thought he'd benefit from a move lower down to get some FL experience. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
do you have a life coach? i find your positivity inspiring, and i'd like to know more about it. i think it could help us all become better people.
i hope to god he has. given what he said in today's press, i can't imagine he'd let him go out, unless someone else was nailed on.
Hope so - or it may just be that we think at the moment young Brown is a better candidate and are planning on giving him game time ahead of Payne anyway. We tend to be quite good at keeping things under wraps until the deal is done so hoping we have someone good coming in, most likely a younger guy in a league 2 club none of us have thought of, but we can dream its Fletcher until Leeds hold their press conference
Ryan hedges, on loan at Yeovil, is the name coming up most often. Trust the club whoever they sign, although did get excited at the prospect of stevie Mallon. Like a younger, sober version of paddy McCourt.
Probably a good move this. I think Payne is decent, has a good frame and looked like a decent target man, but perhaps the initial step up was a little too big. He needs games for both fitness and confidence. Hopefully he'll bag 10 goals for Shrewsbury, have a full pre-season and give us another option next season. The only downside for me would be if it meant we simply loaned another lad in, thus having to rely on players that are ultimately not ours until the summer. A smattering of loans is great, relying on them for a matchday squad less so.
From what I've seen of Payme I thought he looked very handy and another brilliant positive lower league recruitment. I hope he gets games, match fit and we see him again.
