When I say step by step..........I do mean - step by step

 

Yes please I only seem to be able to get a big cross instead .

Avatar:</p>

Go into Control Panel.</p>

Down right hand side, under the password bit there are two boxes - &quot;Upload profile image&quot; and &quot;Set external profile image URL&quot;</p>

Use the browse button next to the former to select a picture file off your PC, or the latter to use an image off the web. To find the URL of an image on a webpage, right click on it and go into Properties, then copy and paste the bit starting &quot;http&quot; into the Set external profile image box. Note that this is the preferred way as it does not waste Citytyke's bandwidth, whereas uploading an image off your PC does. For this reason, the size of images you can upload of your PC is strictly limited, so the first way doesn't always work. To get an image off your PC onto the web so you can use the latter way, go to imageshack</p>

Once you've made the desired changes, click the &quot;Submit&quot; button at the bottom of the page.</p>

Pictures:</p>

Again you need the URL, so if the image is on your PC, you need to upload it to imageshack. Right click and get the url. </p>

In the body of your post, where you want the picture, type (with a normal i, not the accented one) [&igrave;mg= </p>

Now copy and paste the url after the = sign and close the square brackets.</p>

Links</p>

Type (normal u) [&ugrave;rl=</p>

Copy and paste the address of the page you want to link to and close the square brackets.</p>

Now put in the text you want to appear for the user to click on and type [/&ugrave;rl] after it.</p>

So</p>

[&ugrave;rl=http://www.imageshack.us/]imageshack[/&ugrave;rl] </p>

gives the imageshack link above. </p>

 

In imageshack I used the "Direct Link to Image" box at the bottom to make it work

goodness knows what you've got in the &quot;Set external profile image URL&quot; box but whatever it is delete it.</p>

Just copy and paste the line below into the box and hit submit.</p>
