Hmm I'm wondering how much interest we actually showed?

If they've "beaten us to sign him" I can only imagine it's because we told him he'd be 3rd choice behind White and Smith. It's an area where we're temporarily covered.

If this was prior to us signing White on loan, then it's taken them 3 weeks to pick up the pieces.

I don't think it's as straight forward as him choosing AFC Fylde over us based on location.

But I could be wrong. He'd have done a job for us a few years ago, but I'd say his best years are behind him now.

It would help to raise average age of the squad but joking aside If he has the legs and brings experience needed to dressing room could have been a good shout. Ian Harte certainly did the business these past few years in mid 30s at Reading and Bournemouth. I'm sure many had written him off.

But personally I would like to see veteran come in to play holding midfield role. A Michael Brown type, influential and always causes problems for the opposition. If you can't beat em, stop em and do what you need to do. Niggle, Kick, and stir it up. Unsettle the opposition.

We need old fashioned type players who work hard and know how to win ugly. At the moment we are to fragile. Toughen up, stop the rot and become hard to beat.
