"I have really enjoyed my time at Barnsley and it is a great club."

    Translation:

I'd like to re-sign in the Summer but the b******s won't offer me the same money as I was on and will take any fee they can get for me.

Doesn't deserve the same money, he's been crap this season. Won't be playing Championship football next season.

    Really?
    I mean really crap?

I think you are wrong, but I may be watching a different team, cos I think he has been better than both Edwards and McNulty. I am not saying he is fantastic, but he has been the best centre half this season on the whole. Edwards and McNulty have both had very good games, but not as frequently as Foster.
Just an opinion and I can see you point.

Certainly not been crap. I prefer McNulty and generally don't understand the criticism he's had (he tries to pass the ball to feet and keep possession and we treat it like its some kind of disaster) but think Foster has had some pretty good games. Our defensive problems have been at full back (mainly left back) all season.

I think he's had a good, steady season

As always. The only slight disappointment I've had with him is that he hasn't scored as many goals as he's managed in previous seasons.

    He's never been 'crap'

For goodness sake it amazes me how easy it is to knock.

Fozzie has been a great servant to this club, has had some stunning performances (Liverpool & Chelsea for two), but generally given his all for the cause.

Fair enough, if we want to step up a level, we need better than him, but to do so on the budget we have is very unlikely indeed. To which end, you have to wonder whether the player himself is getting the best deal possible... I suspect he could have got a better deal somewhere else for sitting on his arse all week, but would prefer to stay here and contribute.

IF we can line up a better replacement for a similar cost, then I'm sure Fozzie will say it's time to move on and do so graciously, but for now we haven't, and we should be grateful for what we have.

Very harsh to a decent servant who was an absolute bargain signing. I'd not give him a new contract as I believe it's time to freshen up the leaky defence with new blood to work alongside guys like Mcnulty and Golbourne, but if he does go in the summer everyone should wish him all the very best.

I thought that being in the pro Hill camp would trump anything. BBS brownie points and all that.

Well I'm sure you guys have seen more live games than me, but he Fozzy does not seem to be the force of old. Over the last couple of seasons I think he's really struggled to cope with Championship strikers. I'm not saying he's the worst defender in our squad, only that I think his best is behind him and he'd be better off at a division lower (at another club). Great servant and thanks for the good times!

i would much rather have foster in the team or squad than someone here on loan to simply get fit before goin back to there own club, been a great servant for us and the younger players could benefit from having the likes of foster and hassel still here

    Luke Steele?
I agree Foster was one of Daveys sucesses and he actually signed quite a few decent players but I'd say Steele or Muller were both better signings than Fossie

By way of comparison, I'd be interested know what sort of salary Rob Edwards is getting. Essentially, Keith signed him as captain but he hardly gets a game.
