Most underrated Barnsley player in the 18 seasons I've been watching.

I never underrated him. He was always one of the first on the team-sheet for me. Solid reliable defender, we should get him back.

One of the best defenders we've had since our promotion back to the championship IMO.

He was solid and reliable. But I got the feeling a lot of fans always wanted something better.

I remember at times people saying Shackell made him look good.

I think his positioning made his CB pairing look good.

If someone had offered us Ramage with his Premier League experience for Foster I think a lot would have taken it. On evidence Foster is a class above.

Foster consistently made over players look better than they were. His reading of the game was excellent. I always felt he was under-appreciated. "What we need is a big nasty centre half". Then people are surprised when we signed one and all he can do is lump the ball in to the stand and fall over his own feet. I'd rather have a proper footballer. Like Foster.
