Have a look this on McPhail. http://tinyurl.com/ycy5xm7

Opinion still divided amongst Cardiff fans on him. Do you agree with this analysis?

It would be interesting to know. All contributions welcome!

I dont think we would want him back

Most of that analysis describes the player we had - though his distribution was quite good but the comments about speed and lack of right foot are spot on.

We had McPhail at a lower level - so he was always a completely different class in terms of ability compared to those he was playing against. His frailty was still evident though, physically, he was susceptible to a heavy tackle or someone who wanted to put him into row z / or just bully him generally. I often doubted his level of committment and he rarely showed the determination to dig into the games we had to fight in the lower division. When it was about football, and he had the space and time to perform he was wonderful to watch and his passing was sublime. Good at controlling the game from slightly deeper, not brilliant on the edge of the box though. For someone who was great at dropping pin point passes into runners, and crossing and all that, I often wondered why he wasn't scoring more goals from 18 yards. My memory of him at the play-off final was that he was class that day - and particularly in extra time when he put his foot on the ball.
