Steve Bennett is a fecking terrible excused for a referee

Discussion in 'Bulletin Board ARCHIVE' started by BarnsleyBomber, May 11, 2008.

  1. Booked Heskey, Palcios & Valencia for nothing challenges, yet Scholes gets away with a certain yellow and a certain sentinf off with 50 odd minutes of the game to go, Ferdinands was a clear pen just like the one ManUre got an home to Arsenal when Gallas did the same. One penalty against all season sums the Premiership up & the FA dont do anything about it, most big decisions go there way, w@nkers if i see any ManUre fans in Rhyl tonight im going to smack them

You'd be better thinking for yourself instead of telling us what Andy Gray said over and over again. The Ferdinand incident was as borderline as they come and the ref was right to give the defender the benefit of any doubt.. How would you have felt if he'd given Chelsea a pen for a similar incident at Oakwell? Scholes was a little lucky but the slo-mo showed he made only slight contact with the defender who rolled all over the pitch to get him sent off. Finally, Scholes was denied a stonewall pen.
Well done United, another great season.

Not defending them just pointing out that you are wrong and your petty jealousy is getting the better of you

    Rubbish

Ferdinand leaned into it with his arm, it was a clear penalty. I think the fact that Rio completely swerved the question when asked about it suggests he knows it too.

Scholes - the first booking was for tackling from behind, which is automatically a bookable offence whether he gets the ball or not. He followed it up with a cynical block which deserved another, and Bennett would have done so without doubt had he not already been booked.

At the end of the day I think Man Utd were the better side and deserved the win (and they deserve the title too), but it could have been very different had Wigan gone in 1-1 at half time and a numerical advantage, which if the referee had applied the rules correctly, would have been the case. You're right about the other penalty shout though, but it was up to the linesman to give that one.

At the same time I have to say Bennett was the best ref I've seen at Oakwell this year, so it just goes to show that they're all in the same boat. We must help our refs out more if performances are to improve, and with so much riding on their decisions, this has to happen now.

I see myself as an adult at the age of 33. As i said before there is breakaway at the top of the Premiership of 4 clubs. Why is it that you only attack Manchester United? What about Chelsea? Look what they did by starting off with paying the ridiculous wages

    RE: R U real.

Who had the biggest wage bill before Chelsea adopted that mantle in recent history. Man U 'fans' dont like it because they have competition for wealthiest club, That why they harp on about the unfair advantage real madrid have because of how they are funded.

There is a general tendency among young football fans to hate 'Man Ure' and to label them 'scum'. Leeds fans can be excused as hating Man Utd has always been part of their mindless yob culture. Why anyone else should hate them is unclear. It can only be put down to envy as anyone who loves to watch top quality, entertaining football can only sit back and admire United.

I suppose you won't be wanting Barnsley to get promoted next season then?!

After all, they'd be in that league that's killing football.

And that is a fair comment

Doesn't mean though, that as a fan of your local side, you can't also appreciate the football played by other teams.

Then again, I recall a survey in the early 1990's that stated more Leeds season ticket holders were from outside the municipal boundary of Leeds than Man Utd season ticket holders outside the area of Manchester! That soon shut the Leeds fans up that I worked with!

Once again you're basing it all on Manchester United. What about all the Chelsea fans from outside of London. Liverpool have a large following from Wales, Chester, Cumbria to name afew flags seen at games.
I think you should seek help for this burning obsessional jealousy you have for MUFC. I hope your passion for BFC is as strong

    Also.

I never said I didn't appreciate the football they play though. Given their resources I would expect no less.
