    Rumours were afoot

    When messrs Cryne & Ridsdale were first being mentioned as possible buyers of BFC, that Cotterill was the young manager they hoped to appoint.

    Steve Cotterill is highly thought of in the game, but so is Davey

    So is Cotterill better than Davey.....debatable (dunno)

    I wouldn't want to change managers for anyone that is debatably better than Davey
    If Davey has to go, and I dont want him to, but if he had to go the next manager has to be proven beyond doubt that he is a far better manager than Davey.
    Another Championship manager would be swapping like for like.
    Therefore you are talking in the Aladyce, Curbishly bracket.
    Would Aladyce or Curbishley come to Barnsley............no, thought not

    Conclusion.................stick with Davey

    He did about 6 months with him if I remember right.

    Still had a decent record at Boro and won more than he lost at Sheff Utd. West Brom and Bradford I agree with.

    god that hurts.

    I remember a serious broadsheet footy pundit taking the piss out of the blunts when he got the job.

    He basically said that the fact that Brian Robson could still find lucrative employment in football was a sad indictment of the stupidity of some football club directors.
