Made his statement about the game and finished by saying "thats it you can print what you like" and left the room. Good for him I say.The British press must be the worst in the world. Remind of hyenas,if thats not insulting to hyenas.
What is reasonable pressure to put on any individual. I thought the guy was almost in tears. I know it matters, but it is only a game when all is said and done. Appreciate the disappointment in most England performances since 5-1 in Germany, but why does it have to get so manic?
Pleased he didn't say anything If the utter garbage he came out with after the Israel match was owt to go by. He might not get such a hard time if he came out and said we were poor when we were, rather than the crap he came out with on Saturday about how well we played, chances created etc
RE: Pleased he didn't say anything Unlike a club manager he can't go out and sign players. Unlike a club manager he can't get players on loan. Unlike a club manager the games he is playing are far too important -and too few in the context of a qualifying group - to start gambling too much with untried players and too many different formations. Players at this level shouldn't need too much guidance - but they will always put club before country due to the structure of the English game. With the exception of Gerard, Terry and maybe Ferdinand we have an average squad. Wish people would give McLaren a break - it's worse than hearing some of the rubbish spouted by certain fans on here re Davey.
RE: Pleased he didn't say anything Sorry but that abject performance yesterday means he doesn't get a break - if he can't get that squad of players playing in a manner that should destroy Andorra then let him stand aside for a manager that can. I have supported him up to now, and as I said, if he had come out and spoke the truth after the Israel game rather than the absolute ballocks he spouted then perhaps people might not have had a go.
Yep, inreased my [admittedly low] respect for the man By the time the press have finished we will stuggle to find anyone who will take the job.

Its the press's fault that he's the manager in the first place ... it would have been mr. Scholari but for them.

average squad???? Perhaps we are not as good as we think we are, but my god we should have won 2or3 nil in israel and should have been looking at been 3or 4 up by half time against andorra,
world class players imho Ferdinand Terry Woodgate A Cole Gary Neville Hargreaves Gerrard Joe Cole Wayne Rooney Michael Owen there's enough there to win a major competition and its quite clear Beckham should still be in the squad at the very least. I didn't think Sven should have been sacked but if we brought in someone with the calibre of Huddink, O'Neill I could have accepted it. Steve F*ckin McClaren. The media certainly don't help things but its blatantly obvious that McClaren does not have the pedigree or the talent for the job.
no chance i don't think we have any world class players Ferdinand - wouldn't get into italian/spanish/french team Terry - no pace and wouldn't get into italian/spanish/french team Woodgate - you're kidding surely. if there was a world cup for liking charles he may be in with a chance A Cole - hahahahaha wouldn't get into italian/spanish/french/brazil/argie team Gary Neville - hahahahaha wouldn't get into italian/spanish/french/brazil/argie team Hargreaves - lol Gerrard - would be world class if he thought like a footballer instead of trying 80 yard miracle passes Joe Cole - nope wouldn't get into italian/spanish/french/argie/brazil team Wayne Rooney - no goals in 16 competitive internationals doesn't make someone world class. his scoring record this season (in the best team in the country) is also not that of a world class player Michael Owen - only 1 foot, no skill, can only run
the chances are that quite a few of those players will end up playing in the champions league final and stand out playing in the one of best leagues in the world. I wonder how many games you actually watch involving Italy/Spain - they are third and fourth in their respective groups.. There's easily enough talent in that england team to be challenging for a major trophy.
