He is the reason we are not at the tournament.” </p><p class="article">An insider said: “He won’t get paid a fortune but the BBC will pay for his travel, food, accommodation and match fee. It will all add up.” </p><p class="article">McClaren’s first game will be Austria against Croatia — the team who put England out.</p><p class="article">A Radio 5 Live spokesman said: “We are confident we have made the right choice.” </p>
