Hardly inspires confidence! just heard him on the radio rather than saying england will go there to win he is saying how difficult it will be to score - guess mclaren will be happy with a 0-0
The guy is a joke Quotes from him "We had a good performance against Andorra and a tremendous performance against Brazil, the fans got behind us and everyone enjoyed the occasion." - Really Steve .... was I at the wrong game against Andorra ?? "This Estonia team are very well organised. For the first 20-25 minutes they do put a lot of effort in. " - Where are they ranked again ??? Just to remind ourselves how great we are under McLaren, Played 10, Won 4 (Andorra twice , Greece, Macedonia), Drawn 4 (Israel, Holland, Macedonia, Brazil) lost 2 (Spain and Croatia).

He's been extremely poor, but... ...with the lack of strikers he's got i would defy anyone to put out a seriously competitive side.
I know in some ways i hope we don't qualify for the euros and he loses his job! thought sven was a bad decision but mclaren good god! who next? peter jackson?
RE: He's been extremely poor, but... Rooney, Bent, Owen, Defoe, Smith, Crouch, Johnson - agreed they're not as strong as in the immediately previous squads but I think it's more the tactics and motivation that are failing him rather than the players available. The midfield is as strong as ever if used correctly and that should compensate in some ways surely
Alan Smith? with Beckham back in the side (cough) Crouch shouldve played against Brazil, and I back him to score against Estonia. I'd also have Defoe on after 60 minutes of Owen toiling, he's got a good record of scoring in qualifiers. McClaren tried to show he was a strong manager by dropping Beckham when Lampard had a much worse tournament and has shown no signs of improvement. Gerrard is our best player and to play him as holding midfield player shouldve got him the sack on its own. Oh, and Phil Neville.
Jamie Carragher at full back More inept than Carl Regan. Nearly as bad as Glen Johnson. Crouch is the only striker with a decent recent record. He should be an automatic pick, which just shows how lacking we are. Michael Owen's last league goal was in 2005. Not sure where you've got your Defoe stats from, he's only scored 3 goals ever in 24 apearances (i know they were all in qualifiers, but still...
Defoes best performance from my abject memory was away to Poland in a World Cup qualifier, thought he and Rooney linked up well, some players just seem to do well at International level even though not all that for their club side. Owen is miles off full match fitness, Defoe is our only reasonable alternative. Right back is a problem, but Carragher is better there than at left back, thought he 'did a job against Brazil', gives Beckham more license than having Dyer behind him, looking at his clock and day dreaming about female wrestlers, ffs. result is all that counts at this stage.
Midfield two Hargreaves and Gerrard without a doubt. Gerrard driving forward from midfield. Beckham on the right Rooney or Joe Cole on the left, drifting in. Crouch and Owen up front I'd piss it.
You've made it up Along with Barnsley having a 20 goal a season striker and Bladeforlife owning a 16th century chateau.
Ammended version. Ah...most excellent. At least we won't lose the game to the Eastern European nation of Estonia. Is one traversing to the Eastern Bloc this evening? There are three possible options in this situation, marked "A" to "C" A. One is going to the sporting event and is, to coin a colloquialism "cutting it a bit fine". B. One is not attending the event. C. One is resting in a ladies house with connection to the World Wide Web whilst communicating on this interactive message board?
