His bank manager will be laughing......

One lump sum severance pay rather than spread out on a weekly basis.......

    Thank you very much.

    Never stood a chance

The Irish team has ben going through a major change. Lots of young players coming through and in a good group including Germany n Czechs, was never going to be easy. Bit of sympathy for Stan but as with all football managers particularly the inexperienced ones its based on results.
    Watch out Davey!

Staunton Should Have Been Given More Time

Since the Brian Kerr era, he's been trying his hardest to take the team forward with players that will be good for many years. Nobody could have realistically thought they would get out of that group. He should have been given at least to the end of this campaign. They change managers these days too often. The next manager is going to reap the benefits of the hard work of Steve. It will be when like Vogts brought into the Scotland squad a bunch of inexperienced kids to give them a chance and now they are coming good under a different manager.

Poor lad, done nothing wrong, they were never going to qualify ahead of Geramny and the cezch republic, they have done well, why not give him chance for the world cup?

    The problem was

the hammering we took off Cyprus did real damage early on. Also looked unconvincing in other games such as the Welsh and the return match against Cyprus. It hasnt been the best football to watch but like everyone knows now you dont get long in management. He was appointed because the guy at the FAI wanted him there though the majority of Irish fans didnt. Unfortunately there wasnt much alternative at the time and still isnt really.
I'd fully expect O'Leary to get the job now unless the FAI go for a foreign coach?
