he'll have an absolute stormer against us as well. good luck to him. i guess all the championship interest didn't quite materialise then
Good luck to him, he gave his all for us so I'm not going to slag him off. Sure he's not a good footballer but that's not his fault.
If everyone who put on a Barnsley shirt gave what he did we would be a better team. However we are a better team without him. Good luck SD, except against us.
Played his best spell of football for us under Keith, so good luck to him and Dale. Thought he was getting a Championship deal though, so seems a bit of a climb down.
He's not a good footballer but it's not his fault. Whose fault is it then? Absolute abomination of a footballer. Effort is enough for some on here but I don't believe he gave 100% anyway. Good riddance.
I find it very difficult to wish any of our recent players luck at their next club when they've put us in such a situation. Bobby and Luke aside.
I think this sums it up well. What he lacked in quality he did everything to make up for in effort, commitment and hard work. I think he'd have been a solid performer in this league but its not a debate anymore - he's moved on and so do we. It will be nice to see just how well he does in this league.
You can't make yourself into a good footballer, quality is something you either have or don't have. He didn't have quality and did his best to try and make up for that. Then there are some that have the quality that can't be bothered to use it. Those are the ones that annoy me because it's pure laziness. Obviously in a perfect world, you'd have a squad of players that are both talented and committed, we had none of last season. This season looks more promising on both fronts
I agree, if I put on a Barnsley shirt I'd give a hundred %, that should be the minimum I expect from every player every game. Pat on the back for trying? No thanks. Also his behaviour at hudders was disgraceful, plus he's still being investigated over that sending off. No, he was toss, end of.
I liked Dawson. Certainly not the most gifted footballer but gave us bite in midfield, worked hard and got the occasional goal. I even remember people saying our chances of staying up in 2012/13 had gone when he got injured at MK Dons so there's some revisionist thinking from some. The biggest problem for Dawson was Flitcroft either played him out wide (not his position) or he was paired with Perkins. You can have one gratfer in a three man midfield but certainly not two in a four. As for this league, we signed him because he was Leyton Orient's stand out player, a team who were pushing for promotion in this division. And Wislon obviously thought he could do a job as he offered him a contract.
My opinion on Dawson is that he's a league one standard player & the rest of the midfielders we had last season should be ashamed that they were so bad / lazy that such a limited footballer got games ahead of them simply because he put a shift in
