    He's just dropped down the queue for every decent job now. This job at Villa will ruin his reputation because he's destined to fail. Villa will never challenge for honours. Maybe a cup run and midtable finishes in the League. Hardly gets your heart racing. First flirt with relegation and he's a gonner.

    His stock at Rangers will never be higher and they need to sell players in the transfer window so I can totally understand why he's going. Additionally, I believe that he has outgrown Rangers and needs to move on like Brendan Rogers before him.

    Our new guy won't make a **** of difference the players aren't good enough. Yes it can be argued they finished fifth last season with more or less the same team. However, more or less the same team isn't the same team. Not one of them wants to roll their sleeves up. There's no leadership. Sollbauer, Mowatt and Val's departure's were underestimated by the board. If we were staying up we'd have beaten Hull City. Massively disappointing result.

    Agree with that and to add the team selection and players positional roles and inclusions have been woeful and the inability or stubbornness not to change it during games as we’re struggling is criminal .
    Every one could see Moon was struggling on Saturday except it seemed bi JL and other instances before him by MS.
    Maybe a coach that understands the players he’s got and their strengths and weaknesses may galvanise the existing players . Fingers crossed

    Can't see Gerrard achieving that tbh. He seemed to have problems maintaining discipline with his top signings, only won the league title last year and no other silverware. Had a chance to progress in Europe too this season. Villa are garbage since losing Grealish and there are too many orher clubs with better managers and players for him to challenge for Europe in the Prem.

    Agree. Most clubs having betting markets on who will be appointed; we have similar but I think a better market for us might be WHEN an appointment is made, not who it will be.

    Terrible appointment for both sides. Gerard will only get Villa so far. Leeds can attract Bielsa but the best Villa can do is an ex pro that’s managed a year and a half in Scotland, who is gonna spend his whole tenure trying to impress Liverpool?

    3 seasons - 1 trophy and spent millions - putting the Club in huge debt. As Tom English says, St Johnstone won two trophies last season spending washers.

    Having being characteristically ungracious, I'll hold my hands up and say he stopped Rangers from being a laughing stock and won their first honour, so credit for that.

    Please don't comment on the irony of a Barnsley fan referring to Rangers as a laughing stock; I'm well aware of our situation thank you:rolleyes:
