BARNSLEY manager Andy Ritchie has revealed his reasons for allowing defender Steven Watt to return to Chelsea after a month at Oakwell.

Speaking to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk, Andy said: "Steven felt he was not giving his best because of his groin injury so sat down on Friday and came to the conclusion that it could be better if he returned to Chelsea to get things sorted.

"He was playing in some discomfort and it was hampering his performance so he will go back to London to get himself fit. I have spoken to Steve Clarke at Chelsea and we have an agreement to take him again in January if we want to and they can let him out".
