Hard to beat but can't score Five 0 - 0 's Only 2 meaningful goals. Only win was when they were up at HT Can Clarke pick a team to break them down??? As an aside our loss there doesn't look quite so bad.Beat Wrexham and Stockport
Think I read before the away game there that Clarke had never managed to beat Stevenage as a manager. Which went some way to explaining it being one of our most clueless, inept performances of the season. Can see it being a draw. They're one of those sides that are more than happy to shìthouse and frustrate their way through games, and we don't do well against those types of teams.
Can’t score away. Sure we can help out as we can’t keep a clean sheet at least one of those stats will have an exception
one of the two goals was a blinding free kick. The other arose from Peterborough dicking about at the back
I think we’ll break them down to a point where it’s up to the final finish/shot. I always fear the sucker punch goal/s that we seem to be so adept at conceiving. Stevenage will be a tough nut to crack, so a ‘comfortable’ win should get the positivity going again, having said that, any win will do.
I don’t agree with that. Would I mind if he was in the starting line up? Not at all - he’s a very good player. BUT - Had we taken our chances and Bristol, like we did in the 4 previous wins, we probably wouldn’t have needed to use him.
Be a totally different game to what it was on Saturday i think, Bristol played quite open hence us having 25 shots but them also scoring 3 goals, i think Stevenage will sit in and just try to be hard to beat.
It certainly turned out to be an open game, because of how wasteful we were in our finish and final ball, but there’s nothing to say Stevenage won’t be looking to do the same job on the break. As I said in another post, I don’t think we should be looking too deeply into changing personnel based on what was a pretty bizarre game at a place I’ve never seen us win. Im sure Clarke will be wanting to get straight into them, get an early goal and force their hand.
